About the position

The Customer Service Representative at Veolia North America is responsible for managing customer inquiries and field activities related to billing, payments, and account adjustments. This role serves as a liaison between customers and various departments, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues. The representative will handle a variety of tasks including payment processing, record maintenance, and customer service operations under the general direction of a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Handles and completes customer inquiries concerning billing, meter reading/changes, AMI or other related reading equipment, collections, payments and payment processing, applications for service lines, and advises customers of tariff rate changes and any fees associated with billing or adjustments.
  • Receives payments for water bills from customers, balances cash drawers, and prepares bank deposits and transmittals daily.
  • Opens, routes and processes incoming mail.
  • Processes and maintains meter related and customer account records, including field orders, to do's, Hi Lows, zero consumption, consecutive estimate reports.
  • Handles customer and field personnel calls and requests and completes such calls and requests or relays information as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Operates usual office machines and related customer service software/programs.
  • Greets and receives visitors at the building and directs them accordingly.
  • Operates telephone switchboard, handles incoming and outgoing calls and relays information as necessary.
  • Performs all other customer service related miscellaneous work as assigned by management including CS inbox responses, website responses, faxes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
