About the position

As a Customer Service - Self Storage Manager at Public Storage, you will play a crucial role in managing multiple self-storage locations while providing exceptional customer service. This position allows you to work independently, balancing responsibilities both inside and outside the facilities. Your primary focus will be to assess customer storage needs and make appropriate suggestions, which may include selling packing and moving supplies. You will conduct daily inspections of storage units to confirm inventory and availability, ensuring that spaces are ready to rent. Additionally, you will be responsible for auditing cash drawers and making bank deposits as part of the daily business operations. In this role, you will also assist customers in staying current with their payments, which may involve making reminder and collection calls when necessary. The position requires physical activity, including the ability to transport and lift items weighing up to 35 pounds. You will spend a significant portion of your time outdoors, walking around the facilities, climbing stairs, and opening large doors. Daily maintenance tasks, such as sweeping and mopping interior areas and maintaining the exterior grounds, will also be part of your responsibilities. We offer flexible and full-time schedules, allowing you to work between the hours of 9:30 am and 6 pm, with weekends until 5 pm. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple self-storage locations independently.
  • Assess customer storage needs and make suggestions for packing and moving supplies.
  • Conduct daily inspections of storage units to confirm inventory and availability.
  • Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits as part of daily operations.
  • Assist customers in staying current with payments, including making reminder and collection calls.
  • Perform cleaning and daily maintenance tasks, including sweeping/mopping interior areas and maintaining exterior grounds.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service-centered sales environments such as retail, restaurant, or fast food.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to utilize own vehicle for travel between work locations.
