About the position

As a Self Storage Manager at Public Storage, you will play a crucial role in managing multiple storage facilities, ensuring that they operate smoothly and efficiently. This position allows for a degree of independence as you will be responsible for assessing customer storage needs and providing tailored solutions, which may include selling packing and moving supplies. You will conduct daily inspections of storage units to confirm inventory and availability, ensuring that all spaces are ready to rent. Additionally, you will be responsible for auditing cash drawers and making bank deposits, which are essential tasks for maintaining the financial integrity of the facilities. Your role will also involve maintaining customer relationships by helping them stay current with their payments and making reminder and collection calls when necessary. The position requires a proactive approach to customer service, as you will be the face of Public Storage at various locations. You will spend a significant amount of time outdoors, which includes walking around the facilities, climbing stairs, and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the properties appealing and functional. Physical requirements for this role include the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds and spending up to 50% of your time in outdoor environments. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy a dynamic work environment and are comfortable with both customer interaction and physical tasks.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service or sales environments such as retail, restaurant, or service-based companies.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to utilize own vehicle for travel between locations.
