About the position

Public Storage is the self-storage industry leader and we are currently hiring for the position of Self Storage Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work independently at multiple locations, spending time both inside and outside. Your primary responsibility will be to assess customer storage needs and make appropriate suggestions, which may include selling packing and moving supplies. You will conduct daily inspections of storage units to confirm inventory and availability, ensuring that spaces are ready to rent. Additionally, you will be responsible for auditing cash drawers and making bank deposits as part of the daily business operations. As a Self Storage Manager, you will also play a crucial role in maintaining customer relationships by helping them stay current with payments and making reminder and collection calls when necessary. The position requires physical activity, including the ability to transport and lift items weighing up to 35 pounds. You will spend up to 50% of your time in outdoor environments, which may involve climbing stairs and opening large doors. Daily maintenance tasks will also be part of your responsibilities, including cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of the facilities to ensure curb appeal and cleanliness. Public Storage offers a flexible and full-time schedule between the hours of 9:30 AM and 6 PM, with weekends until 5 PM. Employees become eligible for full-time benefits by working an average of 20+ hours per week. Responsibilities

  • Assess customer storage needs and make suggestions, including selling packing and moving supplies.
  • Conduct daily storage unit inspections to confirm inventory and availability.
  • Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits as part of daily business operations.
  • Help keep customers current with payments and make reminder and collection calls when required.
  • Perform cleaning and daily maintenance tasks, including sweeping/mopping interior areas and maintaining exterior grounds.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service centered sales environments such as retail, restaurant, fast food, or other service-based companies.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to utilize own vehicle for travel between different work locations.
