About the position

The Customer Service Specialist at TEKsystems is responsible for performing various customer service functions, primarily through effective communication with customers via telephone or direct contact. The role focuses on assisting customers with inquiries, resolving issues related to services provided by the company, and ensuring high-quality decision-making in customer interactions. The specialist will also engage in data entry and clerical tasks to support customer service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various customer service functions while communicating effectively to assist customers by telephone or direct contact.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve problems related to services provided by the company.
  • Reflect situational adaptability and provide customer focus when processing customer inquiries.
  • Answer customer calls regarding payments, billing, services, etc.
  • Research account details as needed to achieve first call resolution.
  • Perform data entry into supporting work systems while interacting with customers on the phone.
  • Conduct clerical data entry into various business unit software for job requests, status checks, and updates.
  • Make outbound soft phone calls to interact with customers while inputting data into business unit software systems.
  • Input pertinent information regarding customers and problem resolution into a software management system and communicate relevant information to appropriate persons within the company.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide inbound residential customer service while on a soft phone and input data into required customer relationship management software.
  • Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and conditions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Good time-management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in banking or other professional work environments.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
