About the position

The Customer Service Supervisor at GAT Airline Ground Support is responsible for overseeing all aspects of airline customer service operations. This includes ensuring compliance with safety policies, managing personnel functions, and serving as a liaison between airline customers and local airport authorities. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to handle operational challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all functions of the airline customer service operations.
  • Audit flight paperwork to ensure compliance.
  • Complete personnel evaluations on leads and trainers.
  • Coordinate proper handling of on-the-job injuries (OJI) including medical attention and corporate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend safety meetings and other airport forums.
  • Handle all location personnel functions and ensure proper coverage on a daily basis.
  • Monitor and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment.
  • Report discrepancies in ground support equipment functionality and mechanical issues.
  • Coordinate with assigned carriers to meet service needs for cargo and baggage.
  • Determine manpower requirements and ensure fair disciplinary procedures.
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions and baggage routing tags.
  • Brief crews before flights on operational positions and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Airline Customer Service.
  • Experience in the Airport Ground Handling business.
  • Computer experience (6+ months) with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to navigate electronic devices (phones, computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock, etc.).
  • Proven track record in supervising a business unit.
  • Experience in operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.
  • Experience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Capable of processing information in a timely manner.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • Previous ramp or airline experience preferred.
  • Must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Must clear an FBI fingerprint background check.
