About the position

The Customer Service/Warehouse Associate role at a national construction supply company involves a blend of customer service and warehouse responsibilities. The position primarily focuses on assisting customers with inquiries and complaints, selling products, and managing orders, while also performing essential warehouse tasks such as inventory management and order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Assist customers with product and service questions.
  • Sell products and services to customers and develop leads.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls efficiently.
  • Follow up with previous customers to offer reorders or additional services.
  • Maintain product knowledge to answer customer questions accurately.
  • Analyze competitor information to identify sales opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a database of current and potential customers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and general warehouse duties as needed.
  • Participate in monthly and/or annual physical inventories.
  • Schedule inbound/outbound deliveries and manage inventory.
  • Stock and organize the showroom to maximize sales.

Requirements

  • Some college education, preferably an Associate's Degree.
  • 1-2 years of business-to-business sales experience.
  • Experience in a warehouse environment for at least 1 year.
  • Proficiency with the full MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Solid problem-solving and consultative skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service for at least 1 year.
