The Customer Service position at Hy-Vee is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional service to customers in the grocery department. Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Processes mail, Western Union orders, utility bills, and cashes checks.
• Sells money orders and hunting and fishing licenses.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a grocery store or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
