Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries regarding payments and account issues related to utility services.
• Research, verify, and update customer information in the customer information system.
• Assist customers with account activities such as payment applications and financial assistance.
• Interpret billing information and apply appropriate procedures as needed.
• Establish, cancel, and maintain customer accounts in the system.
• Research property ownership for accurate billing.
• Explain rate schedules clearly to customers.
• Maintain and update customer contact information.
• Assist in investigations and audits to resolve account issues.
• Process credit card and e-check payments via phone.
• Prepare reports and perform special projects as required.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in customer service and utility service problems.
• An associate degree or vocational training with 1 year of customer service experience.
• A Bachelor's degree that includes training or experience in customer service.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous call center experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish, French, and/or Vietnamese.
