About the position

Phenomenex, a leader in chromatography products, is seeking a Customer Success Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in maintaining specific territories by responding to incoming web and phone inquiries, providing essential support for sales and technical assistance. The Customer Success Specialist will engage directly with customers, particularly in accounts that do not have a dedicated field representative, ensuring that their needs are met with professionalism and expertise. The position emphasizes the importance of customer retention, onboarding new clients, and upselling or cross-selling products to existing customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific background, particularly in life sciences, and will be driven to contribute positively to the company culture while striving to meet or exceed performance targets in their assigned territory. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving customer issues, ensuring that inquiries are handled efficiently and effectively. You will need to demonstrate strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize tasks to provide the best possible support to our customers. The position also requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 10% for industry events or scientific meetings. This role offers the flexibility of remote work arrangements, allowing you to work from home while still being an integral part of the Phenomenex team. Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming web and phone customer inquiries and provide relevant product, sales, or technical information.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer problems when required.
  • Onboard new customers and upsell/cross-sell products to existing customers to enhance customer retention.
  • Ensure that the assigned territory meets or exceeds specified performance targets.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude while being a team player.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Science required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and assign resources effectively.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to prioritize and triage support for customers.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year or more of scientific support experience in a sales environment.
