About the position
The Customs Analyst (HTS Classification) role involves supporting business needs by applying knowledge of US import/export regulations and Abbott's internal control framework for customs and trade. The position is responsible for troubleshooting import delays, ensuring compliance, and conducting risk analysis to identify potential issues and opportunities for cost savings.
Responsibilities
- Possess and apply a basic understanding and working knowledge of US import/export regulations and requirements.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Abbott's internal control framework for customs and trade.
- Troubleshoot import delays and ensure timely and accurate responses to Broker Requests for Information.
- Conduct compliance spot-checks of sites/divisions to ensure adherence to corporate requirements.
- Conduct monthly risk targeting analysis of US import/export data to identify anomalies and compliance concerns.
- Investigate issues and report findings to Manager/Director.
- Ensure implementation and close-out of corrective actions by the division.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- 2 years of experience in customs regulatory roles.
- HTS classification experience is mandatory.
- Detail-oriented with effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and multitask.
