About the position
The Cutter Operator position at Graphic Packaging International involves operating and maintaining sheet fed cutting machinery, ensuring quality standards are met, and assisting in the training of temporary employees. The role is critical in the manufacturing process, requiring mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sheet fed cutting machinery including Iberica and various Bobst models.
- Perform proper press maintenance and lubrication.
- Complete daily quality checklists and maintain time and materials usage reports in SAP and PEAK.
- Disassemble machines for minor repairs or part replacements using hand tools.
- Assist temporary employees with task assignments while reinforcing SQF standards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and assist in plant-wide painting schedules and SQF audits.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic components.
- Ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and debug machine lines.
- Trained in Mechanical Assembly Standards and Engineering Standards.
- Heavy mechanical skills in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 years of related manufacturing experience in a converting facility or similar environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
