About the position

The position involves performing diagnostic cardiovascular procedures under the guidance and oversight of the Department Manager and designated staff members. The candidate is expected to study didactic materials independently and must be highly self-motivated to learn. Before sitting for registry exams, the individual will independently perform examinations per physician orders and according to department protocols, generate preliminary reports for physician interpretation, and review physician reports. The role includes charting and charging procedures electronically, collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care, and effectively interacting with patients and significant others while maintaining professional standards. The candidate will also interact with Cardiologists and referring physicians regarding critical findings, and discuss significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status, and equipment malfunctions with team leaders and managers. Sound critical thinking skills are essential, and the candidate will work under direct supervision until deemed competent in specific procedures. Outstanding work ethics and integrity are required, along with adherence to the Principles of Performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year patient care experience or training in a related field
  • Completion of EKG Hospital-based training program upon completion of Orientation
  • BLS certification within 1 month of hire
