About the position

The internship position focuses on visual-LiDAR fused object detection and recognition, utilizing computer vision techniques. The intern will engage in research topics such as open-vocabulary object detection, domain adaptation, data-efficient methods, and small object detection, contributing to the development of algorithms and scientific publications.

Responsibilities

  • Work on visual-LiDAR fused object detection and recognition using computer vision.
  • Engage in research on open-vocabulary visual-LiDAR object detection and recognition.
  • Explore domain adaptation or generalization in visual-LiDAR object detection.
  • Develop data-efficient methods for visual-LiDAR object detection.
  • Investigate small object detection with visual-LiDAR input.
  • Collaborate with MERL researchers to develop algorithms and prepare manuscripts for scientific publications.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in a relevant field such as computer vision or machine learning.
  • Strong background in computer vision and machine learning.
  • Experience in object recognition in LiDAR is strongly preferred.
  • Published at least one paper in top-tier venues such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, or AAAI.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Familiarity with at least one deep learning framework.
