About the position

The CVS Child Watch Case Manager V position involves performing highly advanced and supervisory case management work within the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The role focuses on coordinating and evaluating case management activities, developing and implementing goals and procedures, and ensuring that children and youth in temporary DFPS supervision receive necessary services and supports. The position requires extensive initiative and independent judgment, with responsibilities including supervising others and promoting a positive culture for both staff and youth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and evaluate case management activities and documentation.
  • Identify and ensure the provision of resources and services needed by children in temporary emergency locations.
  • Develop options and implement action plans for a collaborative environment.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to improve operations and services.
  • Consolidate and review case-related documentation to link youth with necessary resources.
  • Participate in transition planning to ensure continuity of care.
  • Review incoming referrals and make case assignments as needed.
  • Develop and update service and safety plans for newly served youth.
  • Collaborate with caseworkers and external providers to address placement barriers.
  • Monitor the implementation of clients' service and treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Experience in case management or social work, particularly with children and youth.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing service plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in supervisory roles within social services.
