About the position

The CVT I position in the Cath Lab at Carilion Clinic offers an opportunity for ARRT, RCIS, or RCES certified professionals to work in a Level 1 Trauma Center in Roanoke, Virginia. This role involves participating in advanced cardiac procedures and therapies within a state-of-the-art facility, with a focus on teamwork and professional development. The position includes a sign-on bonus and relocation allowance, along with a supportive work environment that encourages clinical advancement and certification support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring including SWAN pulmonary artery pressure monitoring and continuous trans venous pacing (TVP).
  • Utilize equipment such as Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), IMPELLA ventricular assist device, Shockwave, Rotablator, and CSI.
  • Conduct diagnostic, interventional, and complex/high-risk PCI procedures, as well as structural procedures like TAVR and LAA closure.
  • Participate in structural research clinical trials and coronary artery disease clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with a team of CVTs and RNs to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • RCV through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
  • Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RRT, RTT) with board registry/licensure required.
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
  • Current RTT or RTR status required.
  • AHS BLS-HCP certification required, with AHA ACLS to be completed within six months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Interventional Radiology or critical care experience preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
