About the position

As a UX/UI Specialist at American National, you will leverage your passion for user experience and your educational background in a UX-related field to create exceptional user experiences. This role involves collaborating closely with product management to understand user needs and contribute to the overall design vision of the organization. You will work in a supportive in-office environment located in either Springfield, MO or Galveston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Product Manager and/or Product Owner to understand user needs, pain points, and goals.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather insights to inform product design decisions using various qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Create wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes to visualize the product's layout, navigation, and interactions.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager, Product Owner, and developers to iterate on design concepts based on feedback.
• Advocate for usability best practices and accessibility standards.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Portfolio showcasing previous work.
• Internships or 1-2 years of work experience in UX/UI.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of graphic design and interactive tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision.
