About the position

As a Customer Experience (CX) Researcher at Trimble CTCT, you will be instrumental in guiding the design and development of our products by deeply understanding user needs, behaviors, and motivations. This role is pivotal in conducting comprehensive research and providing actionable insights that shape user-centric design solutions. You will be expected to blend qualitative and quantitative research skills, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities while effectively communicating findings to various stakeholders. In this position, you will report to the CX Research Manager and work closely with the Customer Research, Customer Segment, and Technical Strategy teams. Your primary focus will be to explore and execute various research activities that inform customer-centric strategies, enabling Product Teams to build a profound understanding of our customers and end users. The role may require domestic and international travel, estimated at less than 25%, to coordinate with other offices, conduct research on construction job sites, and gather user feedback at various research events. Your responsibilities will include research planning and execution, where you will collaborate with product teams to clarify research goals and craft clear research plans. You will also manage participant recruitment for user research studies and advise on research methodologies to ensure high-quality research outcomes. Data collection and analysis will be a significant part of your role, involving in-depth analysis to uncover user behaviors and needs, conducting user interviews, field studies, and synthesizing findings into actionable insights. Collaboration and communication are key aspects of this role. You will work closely with UX Design, Product, and Technical Leads to identify research opportunities that inform design decisions. Additionally, you will coordinate with customer support teams to gather user feedback and identify areas for improvement based on user experiences. Your efforts will contribute to a comprehensive research repository that consolidates findings from various sources, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product teams to clarify and align understanding of research goals and objectives.
  • Craft clear research plans for execution to help teams understand users' needs, challenges, and workflows.
  • Recruit and manage participants for user research studies in collaboration with Customer Segment leads.
  • Advise product teams and UX Design leads on research methodologies and best practices.
  • Design and execute user research studies using various methods such as usability testing, user interviews, surveys, and A/B testing.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
  • Conduct user interviews, field studies, and contextual inquiries.
  • Synthesize findings into actionable insights and recommendations for product teams.
  • Collaborate with UX Leads, Product teams, and the Data Insights group to enhance product analytics and quantitative research best practices.
  • Explore and recommend research and database tools, maintaining a comprehensive research repository.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in UX/CX research or a related role.
  • Proven track record of conducting and leading various user research studies.
  • Experience with a range of research methods and tools.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking.
  • Proficiency in research and analysis tools such as Dovetail, Qualtrics, Tableau, PowerBI, Excel, and design software like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with contextual inquiry and field studies techniques.
