About the position

The CXT Production Manager will serve as a strategic partner, providing leadership and guidance to the Hawkeye Pipe Plant supervisors and workforce. This role is directly responsible for production, communication, safety, reliability, continuous improvement, quality, and regulatory compliance, impacting the fiscal stability and productivity of the plant. The manager will ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines, manage operations, facilitate production meetings, and collaborate with various departments to meet production goals and ensure environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to plant supervisors and workforce.
  • Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
  • Manage operations of the plant, projects, continuous improvement, and EHS programs.
  • Facilitate production meetings to communicate daily operating goals and safety concerns.
  • Partner with plant leadership and Quality Department to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Interact with management to report status and resolve project discrepancies.
  • Track, analyze, forecast, and report on budget and goals.
  • Control workflow to ensure effective use of resources and maximum capacity utilization.
  • Manage production schedule to meet production goals and adapt to unforeseen conditions.
  • Work effectively with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Human Resources to meet facility objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and train production personnel, ensuring their development and training.
  • Maintain a 5S environment and implement LEAN principles and practices.
  • Establish goals, communicate expectations, and build a culture of accountability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in a leadership role in the precast industry, specifically in production and management of a dry cast plant.
  • 5+ years of dry cast box culvert and Hawkeye pipe machinery experience.
  • Experience in applying LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S principles.
  • Strong decision-making skills and problem resolution abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • SAP experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
