About the position

The Cyber Database Architect at ALTA IT Services is responsible for developing and implementing robust architecture and engineering safeguards around cyber security data. This role requires a deep understanding of various information and physical security controls to protect data stores, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. The architect will perform requirements analysis, develop strategies for cyber security, and identify potential security gaps. This is a hybrid position requiring two days a week on-site in Woodlawn, MD, and candidates must be US citizens capable of obtaining a US Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, build, analyze, and evaluate unstructured data streams from varied data sources.
  • Define and oversee database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
  • Provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
  • Advise applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems.
  • Ensure economic and efficient availability of data with adequate safeguards.
  • Design and implement databases concerning access methods, access time, batch processes, and security.
  • Use data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
  • Determine data storage and optimum storage requirements.
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis process analyses, and design throughout the database implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of experience instead of a degree.
  • 4-6 years of experience in building out Data Warehouses/Data models/Data repositories/Data Lakes.
  • 4-6 years of experience in leveraging pre-load data pull from a mature data model.
  • 4-6 years of experience in creating consolidated data sets conforming to a Common Information Model.
  • 3 years of experience transforming normalized data for ingestion by Xacta.IO and CDM Elastic.
  • 4 years of experience creating data pipelines for data transfer through Splunk.
  • 4 years of experience creating data Information Identifiers/tag Identifiers within data models.
  • 4 years of experience working with data source sensor tools such as Tanium, Nessus, and firewalls.
  • 2 years of experience with creating data tattoos and mapping data back to the tattoo.
  • 3 years of experience with integrating Production-ready data into Cyber Risk data model(s).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate of $85/hr. to $90/hr.
