About the position

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Cyber Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. This position is critical for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our network systems. The Cyber Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and expanding network devices while collaborating closely with other engineers to maintain the domain system. This role requires a proactive approach to network management and a deep understanding of cybersecurity protocols and technologies. In this position, the Cyber Network Engineer will perform engineering support and system administration for various applications and systems. This includes tasks such as installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup/restore operations. The engineer will also support Assessment and Authorization activities related to cybersecurity technologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Additionally, the engineer will provide insights into efficiencies that can be gained from the current workflow, leveraging an understanding of customer requirements to enhance service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of related experience, particularly with firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers. A Security+ certification is required, and candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $71-75 per hour and is structured as a long-term contract with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position. Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering support and system administration of applications and systems including installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup/restore.
  • Support Assessment and Authorization activities related to cybersecurity technologies, where applicable.
  • Provide insight into efficiencies that can be gained from the current workflow based on an understanding of the customers' requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.
  • Minimum/general experience: 10 years of related network experience (firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers).
  • Security + Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNA certification
  • Experience with Unix/Linux systems
  • F5 load balancing expertise
  • Knowledge of Nutanix systems
  • Experience with Juniper networking equipment.
