About the position

The Cyber Operations Engineer at MITRE will work within the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Operations Department, focusing on systems engineering, cybersecurity, and operational command support. The role involves collaborating with a team of engineers to address critical mission needs and provide innovative solutions to complex challenges in cyber operations and network communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cyber strategies and operations.
• Conduct assessments, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing on commercial devices.
• Collaborate with military and civilian leaders, engineers, and industry representatives.
• Engage with subject matter experts to leverage technical expertise and support mission objectives.
• Adapt to changing priorities and operational needs within the USSTRATCOM environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in cybersecurity or network engineering.
• Strong background in cyber security and network communications.
• Ability to work in dynamic, multi-disciplinary environments.
• Eligibility for access to classified information and a Top Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience in RF engineering, digital forensics, or machine learning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience within Combatant Commands.
