About the position

The Cyber Operations Engineer at MITRE Corporation will play a crucial role in supporting U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Operations. This position involves working collaboratively with a team of engineers to address critical mission needs in cybersecurity, network communications, and systems engineering. The engineer will engage with military and civilian leaders, providing actionable insights and solutions to enhance national security operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cyber strategies and operations.
• Conduct product assessments, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing on commercial devices.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and subject matter experts to support mission objectives.
• Engage with military and civilian leaders to present technical results in an understandable manner.
• Adapt to changing priorities and environments to meet mission needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical domain or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in cybersecurity or network engineering.
• Strong background in cybersecurity and network communications.
• Ability to work in dynamic, multi-disciplinary environments.
• Eligibility for government security clearance (Top Secret).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience in RF engineering, digital forensics, or machine learning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience within Combatant Commands.
