About the position

ICF is seeking a Cyber Operations Specialist to join our mission-driven team dedicated to improving the lives of others and enhancing the security of critical infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring the protection and resilience of vital functions through effective collaboration among federal, private sector, and academic entities. The Cyber Operations Specialist will play a key role in supporting process development aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of both internal and external planning. This position requires a proactive approach to operational coordination across various cybersecurity elements as threats and events unfold. In this role, you will carry out complex assignments and activities, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels within the client agency. You will frequently report to the Section Chief on your progress and accomplishments, ensuring that all parties are aligned on actions and expectations. Your contributions will include helping to develop processes for internal and external planning and collaboration, as well as participating in efforts to improve understanding and communication regarding evolving cybersecurity situations. The Cyber Operations Specialist will coordinate with colleagues and internal partners to ensure that all actions are aligned with the overall goals of the organization. This position is critical in fostering a collaborative environment that enhances the agency's ability to respond to cybersecurity challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out complex assignments and activities, collaborating at all levels throughout the client agency while frequently reporting to the Section Chief on progress and accomplishments.
  • Help develop processes used for internal and external planning and collaboration.
  • Participate in efforts to increase the understanding of and communications about evolving cybersecurity situations and communications.
  • Coordinate with colleagues and internal partners to ensure all parties are aligned on actions and expectations.

Requirements

  • Active high-level security clearance required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for position).
  • 3+ years of experience providing operational support to a government program and using that experience to develop procedures and processes.
  • Experience with cybersecurity concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience supporting a government agency in an onsite or hybrid position.
  • Experience working across government and other organizations to meet goals and objectives.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience supporting DHS programs or initiatives.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
