About the position

The position is an internship role at RTX BBN Technologies, focusing on defending and testing computer systems and networks. Interns will engage in reverse engineering software and malware, while developing their presentation skills and collaborating with a skilled team. Responsibilities

• Join a team that is defending and testing computer systems and networks.
• Reverse engineer software, malware, and system architectures.
• Learn strategies for both free form thinking and disciplined application.
• Hone your oral and written presentation skills.
• Work with extraordinarily skilled team members, from project leadership to fellow interns.

Requirements

• Must be currently pursuing a master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week during summer 2025.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with assembly language (any of x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.).
• Experience with vulnerability research.
• Experience with reverse engineering using tools such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja.
• Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP stacks, wire-level protocols, RF communications, BGP, etc.).
