About the position
The Cyber Security Administrator role involves managing and administering key network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IPS, VPNs, and load balancers. The position requires monitoring security logs and network traffic to identify anomalies, managing malware prevention systems, and ensuring web filtering integrity. The role also includes installing and maintaining security solutions, contributing to automation using scripting languages, and collaborating with team members to align security objectives with performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Administer network security systems, including firewalls, IPS systems, VPN concentrators, and load balancers.
- Monitor security logs and network traffic to identify anomalies.
- Manage malware prevention systems and ensure web filtering integrity.
- Install and maintain security solutions, applying best practices for optimal performance and security.
- Contribute to automation using scripting languages for foundational security tasks.
- Participate in planning and implementing security projects.
- Collaborate with team members to develop performance metrics aligned with security objectives.
- Research emerging products and services to enhance security.
- Coordinate small projects related to security improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in relevant Security Systems Administration.
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, IPS, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Experience with Cisco and Fortinet firewalls.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with endpoint protection and malware prevention.
- Scripting skills in Python or PowerShell.
- CISSP or similar certification.
