About the position

PPT Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst in the National Capital Region. The qualified applicant will provide objective expertise for cyber tabletop exercises and specialized skills to support projects related to cyber penetration testing, resilience, assessment, and testing efforts. This role involves collaboration with the test team to address cybersecurity-related risks and vulnerabilities, as well as providing inputs to the test and evaluation plans and reports. The Cyber Security Analyst will apply extensive technical expertise to assess, make recommendations, and implement cyber assessments as required. They will provide technical solutions supporting cyber tabletop exercises and must be able to lead these exercises effectively. The analyst will also test security systems to detect weaknesses and assist in designing, developing, and recommending integrated security system solutions that ensure the protection of proprietary and confidential data and systems. Additionally, the role requires driving technical engineering in support of cyber security analysis and reporting, and interfacing with clients in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Cyber Security Analyst will develop procedures and maintain scripts, routines, and software for conducting security studies and assessments. This includes providing professional-level analysis in recognizing system threats and vulnerabilities, as well as detecting malware or malicious activities. The analyst will perform security assessments, risk identification, mitigation planning, execution, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Apply extensive technical expertise to assess, make recommendations, and implement cyber assessments as required.
  • Provide technical solutions supporting cyber tabletop exercises.
  • Lead cyber tabletop exercises effectively.
  • Test security systems to detect security weaknesses as required.
  • Assist with designing, developing, and recommending integrated security system solutions that ensure proprietary and confidential data and systems are protected as required.
  • Drive technical engineering in support of cyber security analysis and reporting.
  • Interface with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs as required.
  • Develop procedures and maintain scripts, routines, and software for accomplishing security studies and assessments.
  • Perform security assessments, risk identification, mitigation planning, execution, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree or higher in a related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience; or 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience conducting security assessments, threat assessments, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Proficient with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; must be a team player and able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work a weekly hybrid schedule involving both telework and some onsite work in Washington, D.C.
  • Must be able to pass a government background investigation and obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
