About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst 1 is a pivotal role within our organization, tasked with creating and maintaining a secure computing environment that safeguards against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of sensitive information. The analyst will work closely with experienced team members to respond to and resolve security incidents, ensuring that all actions taken are in compliance with corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies, including Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy. In this role, you will assist in the monitoring and administration of both hardware and software solutions that protect the organization's information needs. You will support the team in establishing and enforcing basic security standards, which are essential for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our data. Additionally, you will be responsible for updating documentation related to procedures and instructions, which is crucial for maintaining operational consistency and compliance. The Cyber Security Analyst 1 will also play a key role in recovery procedures for systems, ensuring that the organization can quickly and effectively respond to any security breaches. This position requires a proactive approach to learning and staying current with industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity, as well as a strong attention to detail to identify and address potential vulnerabilities in our systems.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve or escalate reported security incidents.
  • Use security tools and resolve security issues with direct oversight by team members.
  • Assist with performing, monitoring, and administering hardware and software solutions that protect or govern information needs of the organization with direct oversight by team members.
  • Support team in establishing and enforcing basic security standards.
  • Assist with updating documentation of procedures and instructions.
  • Assist with recovery procedures for systems.
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an Enterprise IT role with demonstrated exposure to security tools and concepts.
  • COMP TIA Security certification or equivalent experience.
  • Collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with other teams.
  • Oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact.
  • Organized and experienced in successfully multi-tasking.
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Driven to learn and stay current professionally.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of basic security fundamentals, desktop and server support and networking concepts.
