About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst I is responsible for protecting the company's hardware, software, networks, and information from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring the IT infrastructure, evaluating potential threats, and enhancing security measures to safeguard sensitive information. The analyst supports the corporate mission of the IT department and plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the company's digital assets.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor computer networks and systems for threats and security breaches.
  • Examine reports, data, and analytics to identify suspicious activities and threats.
  • Review and install Operating System and third-party software patches.
  • Document processes, procedures, and indications of compromise.
  • Ensure corporate data is removed from universal waste and assist with disposal.
  • Monitor and complete tasks in the ticketing system.
  • Monitor and respond to threats in the email system.
  • Create an educational program to assist the company in achieving its corporate goals.
  • Stay current on IT security trends and news.
  • Work with team members on larger projects.
  • Participate in meetings, presentations, and performance evaluations.
  • Act as an IT subject matter expert on various business teams.
  • Engage with relevant user groups.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Cyber Security Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent education such as certificates or real-world experience.
  • Experience in information security or a related field is helpful but not necessary.
  • Understanding of computer networks, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft OS, Linux, and Mobile Device Management.
  • Broad understanding of firewalls, proxies, VPNs, MFA, SIEM, antivirus, patching, and IDPS concepts.
  • Ability to think critically and innovatively about security solutions.
  • Strong customer service ethic and ability to work independently or in teams with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for training, offsite work, and user group participation.
