About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst position at Progressive Technology Solutions involves managing and enhancing the security posture of the organization through risk management and cybersecurity frameworks. The role requires a strong understanding of information security concepts, policies, and system architecture, particularly in a healthcare context. The analyst will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement system hardening techniques.
• Manage and assess risks associated with information security.
• Utilize eGRC tools for governance, risk, and compliance management.
• Develop and document security policies and procedures.
• Provide expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
• Collaborate with teams to design and map security processes and workflows.
• Lead incident response efforts and privacy assessments.
• Communicate security concepts and strategies effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity and risk management.
• College degree in Information Security or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with eGRC tools and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Proficiency in networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model) and operating systems (Windows, UNIX).
• Ability to develop security solutions and resolve complex issues.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in healthcare cybersecurity environments.
• Familiarity with access control methodologies (MAC, DAC, RBAC).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and mobile device security.
