The Analyst II Security position is a critical role responsible for planning, developing, and administering cyber security procedures and training programs for classified or proprietary materials, products, services, electronic documents, and information systems. This position ensures that all cyber security training and internal practices, procedures, and policies comply with Department of Energy (DOE) orders and any other applicable policies related to cyber security. The Analyst II will engage in various activities, including conducting audits, surveys, and special studies, as well as preparing comprehensive cyber security plans and procedures. Familiarity with all cybersecurity requirements and policies is essential, as the role involves interaction with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), DOE Headquarters, and other leadership entities. In this role, the Analyst II will prepare and ensure the implementation of cyber security policies and procedures, conduct investigations of unusual incidents involving cyber security issues, and plan and coordinate access controls to allow authorized personnel or visitors access to restricted electronic records, materials, or areas. The position also requires planning, developing, coordinating, and presenting cyber security awareness training and education for cyber security operations, evaluating the effectiveness of training programs, conducting job task analysis, security audits, surveys, and special studies. Additionally, the Analyst II will develop written documentation of Cyber Security, Telecommunications Security, and local procedures, coordinate with the DOE to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations and orders, and represent the team in meetings with internal and external customer bases. The role may also involve recommending and/or implementing policies and procedures in support of management objectives and developing and facilitating internal communications, which may include processing and distributing information through various communication services. Other duties may be assigned as required.
