About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst position involves supporting cyber security assessments, testing, and sustainment of the TacMobile P8 ground system to ensure secure software builds and components for the Maritime Patrol Reconnaissance Force (MPRG). This role is contracted for the U.S. government and requires U.S. citizenship along with a Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) tasks in collaboration with the project IAM to support accreditation processes.
  • Conduct NIST 800-53 controls review and validation testing to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) status.
  • Maintain and update Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) via eMASSter or Vulnerator to track system security posture through Navy eMASS.
  • Utilize VRAM for daily/weekly activities, such as compliance verification and reporting of findings.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and reporting using tools like Nessus/ACAS, and ensure compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing information assurance (IA) and security analysis services for DoD programs.
  • Current DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (e.g., SSCP, Security+ CE) with appropriate CE/OS certificate.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining POA&Ms.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems, VMWare, and Cisco networking equipment.
  • Experience using Nessus/ACAS scan tools.
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIGs and vulnerability management tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • OS certifications such as Linux+, RHEL, Microsoft, or Cisco CCENT/CCNA.
  • Windows-based systems administration experience.
  • RHEL 7/8 administration and familiarity with Windows registry, directory structure, and Group Policy.
  • Experience working with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and tools like Vulnerator or eMASSter.
