About the position

ManTech is seeking a motivated and career-oriented Cyber Security Analyst, Senior to join our team in the Aurora, CO area. This position plays a critical role in securing our nation by providing detection, identification, and reporting of possible cyber-attacks, intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities. The Cyber Security Analyst will characterize and perform analysis of network traffic and system data to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to resources. This role requires performing security event and incident correlation using information gathered from various sources within the enterprise, as well as conducting cyber incident triage to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact. The analyst will identify specific vulnerabilities and make recommendations for expeditious remediation, tracking and documenting cyber incidents from initial detection through final resolution. Additionally, the analyst will analyze and assess damage to data and infrastructure resulting from cyber incidents and perform cyber incident trend analysis and reporting. The position requires a commitment to 24x7 shift work, typically following a 4/10 shift schedule, with hours dependent on location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity operations and be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously while coordinating resources to meet scheduled goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as the analyst will need to interact effectively with various levels of senior management and make informed decisions to resolve problems efficiently. The role also requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing workloads and adapting to sudden shifts in project priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides detection, identification, and reporting of possible cyber-attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities
  • Characterizes and performs analysis of network traffic and system data to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to resources
  • Performs security event and incident correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise
  • Performs cyber incident triage to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identify the specific vulnerability and make recommendations which enable expeditious remediation
  • Tracks and documents cyber incidents from initial detection through final resolution
  • Analyzes and assesses damage to the data/infrastructure as a result of cyber incidents
  • Performs cyber incident trend analysis and reporting

Requirements

  • Typically requires a B.S. degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
  • CSSP-IR certification required (e.g. CEH, CySA+)
  • IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) certification required
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience working in a Cybersecurity Operations Center environment desired
  • Experience with COTS technologies used in a Cybersecurity Operations Center environment desired
  • Working knowledge of current COTS Cybersecurity technologies
  • Working knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Understanding of latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
