About the position

As a Cyber Security Analyst Sr Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in building robust cyber defenses using advanced technologies. Your work will focus on securing clients' missions and proactively addressing future threats. This position involves vulnerability analysis, documentation creation, and coordination with information system points of contact to maintain the health of IT systems, networks, and applications. You will also interpret and report on cybersecurity events, ensuring compliance with established standards and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vulnerability analysis and reporting on accredited information systems.
  • Create documentation such as SOPs and internal process documents to support continuous monitoring.
  • Coordinate with information system POCs for plan updates and mitigation strategies.
  • Interpret, analyze, and report all events and anomalies according to computer network directives.
  • Ensure cybersecurity plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures align with cybersecurity standards.
  • Develop techniques and procedures for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate and test hardware, firmware, and software for security impacts.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents such as intrusions and attacks.
  • Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task lead.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in cyber security.
  • Experience with architecture design, system and network analysis, and security assessments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with continuous monitoring and plans of actions and milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, 800-137, and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Demonstrated experience with cybersecurity concepts including encryption services and access control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong writing skills for creating documentation and cyber policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified in Cloud Security for AWS and Azure Security.
  • Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, NCSF.
