About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and securing the IT infrastructure of an organization. This position involves monitoring network security devices, managing server applications, and ensuring compliance with information security policies. The analyst will also conduct risk assessments, analyze security incidents, and develop strategies to mitigate security threats, all while collaborating with various teams to enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates across the enterprise to ensure network security devices are monitored and generating alerts.
  • Manages the IT infrastructure, including LANs/WANs, servers, and applications like PeopleSoft and Oracle.
  • Configures, installs, maintains, and upgrades server applications and hardware.
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, and maintains information systems and cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Ensures alignment of IS and cybersecurity plans with overall standards and policies.
  • Identifies security risks, determines causes of violations, and suggests preventive measures.
  • Develops techniques for conducting risk assessments and compliance audits.
  • Conducts research and evaluates intelligence related to network operations and cyber warfare tactics.
  • Analyzes network events to assess impact on operations and research adversary capabilities.
  • Prepares assessments and cyber threat profiles based on classified and open-source information.
  • Correlates threat data from various sources and develops analytical procedures to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Collects data using standard intelligence methods and business processes.
  • Produces high-quality reports and presentations for senior government officials.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA with 2-4 years of experience, MS/MA with 0-2 years, or no bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in provisioning, patch management, and configuration management for security devices.
  • Experience in device monitoring and managing tiered alerts for operational networks.
  • Proven experience in lifecycle management of security devices, including tech refresh recommendations.
  • Experience in supporting security incident resolution.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
