About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst position is a critical role focused on leading sustainment work for cybersecurity solutions specifically tailored for industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technologies (OT). This role is essential in supporting the tools necessary to meet cybersecurity compliance requirements, ensuring that the organization adheres to industry standards and best practices. The analyst will be responsible for staying current on industry trends and maintaining a diversified knowledge of OT cyber compliance best practices. As an individual contributor, the Cyber Security Analyst will work collaboratively within a team on special projects aimed at mitigating security risks associated with internal cybersecurity processes and procedures. The position requires executing and maintaining plans and procedures that ensure cybersecurity compliance for operational technologies. The analyst will also collaborate with various departments, including Information Technology (IT), Business Relationship Management (BRM), and internal compliance groups, to effectively remediate cybersecurity risks. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cyber Security Analyst will support an incident management team, utilizing their skills to respond to security events in accordance with established incident response playbooks for operational technology. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, encouraging participation in initiatives aimed at enhancing internal cybersecurity processes, procedures, and standards. This position is based in the Metro Detroit area, and candidates must be local to this region.

Responsibilities

  • Leads sustainment work for cybersecurity solutions for industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technologies (OT).
  • Supports tools needed to meet cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Performs assigned cybersecurity mitigations and maintains solutions to compliance-related problems.
  • Executes and maintains plans and procedures to ensure cybersecurity compliance for operational technologies.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology (IT), Business Relationship Management (BRM), and internal compliance groups to remediate cybersecurity risks.
  • Supports in-depth security architecture and maintains a strong understanding of networks to ensure adequate defense in depth design.
  • Stays current on industry trends and security requirements in the gas pipeline industry.
  • Supports an incident management team, responding to security events in line with incident response playbooks for operational technology.
  • Actively seeks continuous improvement opportunities and participates in improvement initiatives of internal cybersecurity processes, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology discipline.
  • 2 years of Information related experience.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity Operations.
  • Experience in Industrial Control Systems and/or Operational Technology.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills; communicates clearly, with credibility and confidence.
  • Promotes an atmosphere that supports the open exchange of new ideas.
  • Deals effectively with resistance and takes positive steps to avoid the recurrence of errors through constructive critique.
  • Possesses well-developed organizational and planning skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.
