About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst position is a critical role responsible for safeguarding the organization's information systems and assets. This position requires the individual to perform a wide range of complex security procedures and processes to ensure the safety of these systems and protect data from both intentional and inadvertent access or destruction. The analyst will be accountable for ensuring that all users understand and adhere to the necessary security procedures and processes, thereby maintaining a secure environment. In addition to user education, the Cyber Security Analyst will conduct complex IT data and security forensic investigations, which are essential for identifying and mitigating potential security threats. The role also involves internal vulnerability management to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. A strong understanding of domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures is required, along with in-depth knowledge of intrusion detection systems and internet architecture. The analyst will implement and administer various cybersecurity-related systems to enhance the organization's security posture. This position is not only technical but also requires strong communication skills to effectively convey security protocols and findings to various stakeholders. The Cyber Security Analyst will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that the organization's cybersecurity measures are robust and effective against evolving threats.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of complex security procedures and processes to ensure the safety of information systems and assets.
  • Ensure users understand and adhere to necessary security procedures and processes.
  • Conduct complex IT data and security forensic investigations.
  • Manage internal vulnerability assessments to meet regulatory and standards compliance.
  • Implement and administer cybersecurity-related systems.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning, identification, and remediation.
  • Participate in situational tabletop exercises related to malware, phishing, and ransomware.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Cybersecurity related experience.
  • Experience with Tenable/Nessus or other vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Knowledge of endpoint protection, AV/XDR, and policy configuration.
  • Experience with SIEM, logging/syslog, and alerting systems.
  • Proficient in Windows/Linux Server administration of on-premise Cybersecurity applications.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, and phishing simulations.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of common IT infrastructure in large organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with XQL, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Possession of cybersecurity certifications.
