About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst at the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) plays a crucial role in protecting the organization's employees, data, and brand from cyber threats. This position involves assisting the IT Security Manager in the development, maintenance, and implementation of cyber security plans, policies, and procedures. The analyst will conduct research, analysis, and documentation to ensure compliance with cyber security regulations and best practices, while also participating in incident response and risk management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the IT Security Manager with the research, analysis, preparation, adoption, and maintenance of RTAA cyber security plans, policies, procedures, and activities.
  • Investigate and document IT systems, processes, users, and IT supply chain providers to prepare a comprehensive IT Asset Inventory.
  • Participate in the analysis, evaluation, and prioritization of IT assets to create and maintain a Comprehensive Risk Analysis.
  • Conduct research, recommend, and apply IT security policies and controls to IT assets using a methodical, risk-based approach.
  • Audit IT systems, processes, and user activities to ensure compliance with cyber policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Conduct, evaluate, and communicate results of regular awareness training campaigns.
  • Monitor event-driven security monitoring tools, including IPS, IDS, SIEM, and ATP systems.
  • Establish baselines, summarize data, and prepare and deliver reports.
  • Research and investigate anomalous system activities and behavior.
  • Work with third-party providers to identify, investigate, and remediate cyber-related incidents and attacks.
  • Perform and assist with various Cyber Security Incident Response Plan functions and activities, including forensics research, communications, remediation, restoration, reporting, and ongoing plan revision.
  • Assist in the development of Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations plans to restore RTAA systems and networks following business interruption.
  • Review and maintain compliance with cyber security-related regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the execution of incident response tabletop exercises.
  • Serve as the TSA Assistant Information Security Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of full-time employment in a cyber security-related position.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as COMPTIA CYSA+, ISC2 CISSP, or GIAC GSEC.
  • A valid Driver's License.
