About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst at Regions is responsible for analyzing and documenting cybersecurity risks, responding to cyber threats, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance security measures. This role requires a proactive individual with a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices to investigate and remediate security incidents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond to cyber threats using various security tools according to documented procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders within Cyber Security/Technology departments to document and communicate security risks.
• Support a feedback loop related to information and events to improve analysis precision and accuracy.
• Review and understand Policies, Standards, and Procedures for improved process flows.
• Support threat hunting, participate in tabletop exercises, and assist in Incident Response as needed.
• Maintain meticulous records of all work performed, including root cause analysis and remediation steps.
• Stay updated on global cybersecurity threat trends.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to document security posture and assess the environment for relevant IOCs and gaps.
• Participate in and document various security assessments as needed.
• Assist with analyzing software for compliance with Regions Cyber Security standards.
• Serve as an escalation point, mentor, and trainer for junior analysts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and six years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology.
• Minimum of two relevant certifications in Information Security or the ability to obtain them within twelve months of starting, such as CompTIA Network+/Security+/CySA+, EC-Council CEH, Cisco CCNA/CCNA-Security, GIAC GSEC, etc.
• Willingness and availability to work on a pre-determined shift and rotational on-call.

Nice-to-haves

• Intermediate to Advanced AWS or Azure Architect/Administrator and/or Security specialty certification.
• Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
• Experience performing security analysis using SIEM systems.
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK Framework and Cyberattack Kill Chain.
