About the position

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the security posture of our organization, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our digital assets. The candidate will also consult with customers regarding their cybersecurity posture. This role requires a strong understanding of security principles, network architecture, and IT infrastructure. The IT Security Specialist will conduct vulnerability assessments to identify potential security threats and develop and implement mitigation strategies. Utilizing security tools, the specialist will monitor and analyze network traffic, system logs, and other relevant data. Collaboration with network engineers is essential to design and implement secure network architectures and configurations. Additionally, the specialist will develop and maintain incident response plans to ensure effective management of security breaches. Regular security audits and risk assessments will be performed to identify and mitigate potential security risks. The specialist will conduct regular system and network checks to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Staying up-to-date with the latest security threats and technologies is crucial, as this knowledge will be applied to maintain the security posture of the organization. The IT Security Specialist will also collaborate with the IT team to ensure that all IT systems and processes align with security policies and standards, and will develop and maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident response plans. Participation in regular security awareness training and education programs is also expected to ensure all employees are aware of security risks and best practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity role, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM platforms.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly to security incidents.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
