About the position

Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to support an operations team that serves a large government customer. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of the client's systems and data. The Cyber Security Operations Analyst will be relied upon to assist teammates and perform troubleshooting as needed, making it essential for the candidate to excel in a fast-paced work environment and be willing to face new challenges. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and implementing solutions to enhance security measures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vulnerability scanning, remediation, and reporting. They should possess knowledge in web application scanning using various tools and demonstrate proficiency with Windows, UNIX, and LINUX operating systems. Experience in a customer service information technology environment is crucial, as the analyst will need to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. The candidate should also have network security and system security experience, with the ability to discuss real-world troubleshooting problems and solutions encountered in previous roles. Knowledge of IT security best practices, as well as US federal government standards, regulations, and policies such as FedRamp, TIC, NIST 800-37 rev1, and 800-53 rev3, is essential. The candidate must be motivated, able to work independently, and have experience working with change implementation in a controlled environment. Excellent verbal, written communication, and technical writing skills are necessary to document findings and communicate effectively with the team. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience, is required. The candidate should have 2-5 years of related experience in data security administration and experience using tools such as Nessus, Tenable Security Center, Netsparker, WebInspect, and Burp Suite.
