About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst at Fortress Security Risk Management is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and blocking potential threats while detecting IT security incidents across the enterprise. This role involves proactive service monitoring, patching, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and backups, ensuring the security and integrity of client systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor EDR alerts and remediate issues while communicating effectively with customers via service tickets.
• Interpret and analyze potential threats, translating their severity for appropriate action.
• Conduct investigative work regarding potential threats and actively respond to cyber-attacks.
• Perform event analysis leveraging SIEM tools to enhance security measures.
• Monitor alerts and notifications from the remote monitoring and management system, responding through service tickets for monitoring, patching, EDR, and backups.
• Provide monthly patching reports to customers, remediating issues as they arise and escalating to the Analyst II as necessary.
• Resolve technical issues resulting from monitoring alerts, including disk space, firmware updates, and hardware problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related security field plus 1 year of work experience, OR an Associate's degree plus 2 years of work experience, OR 3 years of work experience in a relevant field.
• Information security-related experience in areas such as security operations, incident analysis, incident handling, and vulnerability management or testing preferred.
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certifications preferred.
