About the position

As a Cybersecurity Analyst at Cantaloupe, Inc., you will play a crucial role in protecting the company's information technology assets and data, particularly in cloud services. Your responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and maintaining security measures, monitoring systems for breaches, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with senior security engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate security into applications and services, while also contributing to security awareness initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of security solutions, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and monitoring tools.
  • Monitor infrastructure for security threats and vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits of product/engineering environments to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into applications and services.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with industry standards (e.g., PCI, ISO 27001, NIST-CSF, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and documentation across environments.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and security technologies in the cloud & non-cloud computing space, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of security tools and technologies for threat detection, prevention, and response.
  • Provide support and guidance to development and operations teams on secure configuration and deployment practices.
  • Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives to educate employees on cloud security best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Mid-level experience in cybersecurity with a focus on cloud security and IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of PCI, NIST standards, and ISO 27001.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud computing technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience or coursework in cloud computing and security principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of encryption techniques and secure communication protocols.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
  • Demonstrated passion for cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and adapt.
