About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst at GLS plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's information security infrastructure and strategy. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures that protect enterprise systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities. The analyst will evaluate existing processes and procedures, providing recommendations to enhance security and reduce the risk of information breaches. This role also involves supporting the development of IT security professionals by sharing knowledge and providing training, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle security challenges. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cyber Security Analyst will research and advocate for new security products that align with enterprise security requirements. They will review the security infrastructure to ensure it can accommodate growth and maintain high availability. The analyst will monitor threat intelligence services to stay updated on emerging security threats and concerns, and will communicate any security incidents and risks to both IT and business staff. This position requires a proactive approach to security, with a focus on anticipating and mitigating potential attacks to protect the organization’s assets and data.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the security of enterprise systems by anticipating and mitigating attacks
  • Evaluate processes and procedures to provide recommendations on how to reduce the risk of information security breaches
  • Implement and maintain information security processes and solutions
  • Support the development of other IT Security professionals by sharing knowledge and providing training
  • Research and advocate for new security products that support enterprise security requirements
  • Review security infrastructure for capacity, growth, and high availability planning
  • Review information security threats and vulnerabilities to assess business risk, impact, and exposure
  • Communicate security incidents and risks to IT and business staff
  • Directly support and provide guidance for security related issues
  • Monitor threat intelligence services to keep current on emerging security threats and concerns

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in information security positions required
  • Security+ certification or similar certification highly desired
  • Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment
