About the position

The Cyber Security Analyst at XiFin is responsible for identifying, researching, and performing offensive cyber security techniques to test and verify security controls. This role involves analyzing and tuning SIEM events, threat hunting, automating investigation tasks, and responding to security incidents. The analyst will work closely with project teams to implement security by design principles and ensure the effective use of security technology solutions to reduce risk and enhance data security.

Responsibilities

• Perform incident response investigation from escalated incidents on Windows and Linux systems
• Understand and evaluate emerging threats on cyber security exploits, vulnerabilities, techniques, and tactics
• Utilize offensive security tools and tactics to enhance detection capabilities
• Conduct threat hunting and threat assessment in the context of information technology architecture
• Analyze and tune operating system and SIEM logs, events, and alerts
• Design, document, review, and validate security hardening configurations within IT solutions
• Design, document, review, and test cybersecurity-based incident response run and playbooks

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of securing operating systems including Windows and Linux
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in managing or using a SIEM or Incident Response investigation
• Cybersecurity Forensics experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and track through to completion
