About the position

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to join our healthcare IT security team in Akron, OH. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents to protect critical healthcare data and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong incident response skills and a commitment to maintaining high levels of data protection in a complex healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts, responding to cybersecurity incidents and managing the incident response process from detection through resolution.
  • Conduct forensic analysis, malware analysis, and threat detection to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement threat detection rules and response procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to improve incident response protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed incident reports and post-incident analyses to strengthen the overall security framework.
  • Stay current on industry standards, emerging threats, and advanced incident response methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff on cybersecurity best practices and response techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 7 years of information security experience.
  • 7 years of IT-related experience.
  • Experience in a complex healthcare environment is required.
  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) certification.
  • GIAC Incident Handler (GCIH) (or equivalent) certification.
  • CompTIA CASP (or equivalent) certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) (or equivalent) certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of incident response, digital forensics, malware analysis, and threat detection.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and report writing.
  • Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations effectively.
