About the position

As a Cyber Security Architect/ISSE at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in building robust cyber defense systems using advanced technologies. This position focuses on ensuring the security of our clients' missions by anticipating future threats and implementing security measures from the early stages of system development. You will work collaboratively with program management and developers, ensuring compliance with the Risk Management Framework and achieving systems' Authority to Operate (ATO).

Responsibilities

• Act as an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) with a broad cybersecurity background emphasizing Assessment & Authorization (A&A).
• Collaborate with program security personnel and work independently to promote security compliance and process improvements.
• Coordinate and track risks, accreditation status, and reporting across all project teams.
• Provide security architecture guidance and conduct engineering reviews for team officers.
• Ensure compliance with Sponsor auditing requirements and conduct security scanning.
• Prepare, update, and submit security relevant artifacts to the Sponsor's security management system.
• Create security briefings and support management in all security-related matters.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience in cybersecurity.
• Extensive knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Experience with system scanning tools, antivirus, SIEMs, and network monitoring tools.
• Experience developing a Body of Evidence (BOE) for gaining and maintaining ATO.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and MS-Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Linux or Windows administration and any scripting language or automation.
• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps.
• Security+, CISSP, CISM or other security-related certification.
