The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst 3 to join the Vulnerability Management Team. This position is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of the state's IT infrastructure. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing vulnerabilities across various systems, utilizing a range of tools and methodologies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. The role requires a strong background in IT security, particularly in vulnerability management, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. The candidate will be expected to perform vulnerability scans, generate reports, and provide actionable insights based on trend analysis and performance metrics. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting issues related to Linux, Windows, and UNIX systems, requiring a solid understanding of these operating systems. The IT Security Analyst will also be tasked with creating dashboards and utilizing data scripting to visualize metrics that reflect the performance of the vulnerability management program. This includes log parsing and analysis using tools such as grep, sed, or AWK, as well as scripting in PowerShell and Python to automate processes and enhance reporting capabilities. The position is hybrid, requiring the candidate to work in the office two days a week, and candidates must be local to the Dimondale area, within a commutable distance of 1-1.5 hours. Onsite interviews will be conducted, and candidates must be willing to attend in person. The duration of the position is one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
