About the position

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and implementing new technologies, analyzing infrastructure and software designs, and resolving potential issues to enhance and secure a large enterprise network. This role requires a strong foundation in IT architecture, familiarity with PaaS and SaaS technologies, and hands-on collaboration with security, infrastructure, and development teams to improve overall security standards. The position is expected to be the last level of technical escalation within the company for assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance and secure a large enterprise network.
  • Analyze infrastructure and software designs and implementations to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Design complex solutions for vulnerability detection, threat and risk analysis, and network intrusion.
  • Secure technology assets across application, infrastructure, cloud, and data tiers.
  • Develop and implement vulnerability mitigation strategies.
  • Guide engineering teams in making informed security decisions on infrastructure, systems, and applications design.
  • Ensure security is integrated into app development, network infrastructure, and cloud systems.
  • Implement industry-leading practices around cyber risks and perform security assessments of cloud platforms.
  • Design and develop security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Identify software weaknesses that could lead to exploitable vulnerabilities.
  • Advise on architecture decisions at technical and product levels.
  • Design secure deployment and monitoring of applications in public cloud services.
  • Respond swiftly to alerts and perform initial risk/impact assessments.
  • Support operating organizations during corporate emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cyber security principles.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing secure architectures.
  • 2 years of experience in Threat Management (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols and security standards.
  • Experience with Splunk and Phantom.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM) are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Agile Development with specific Security Architect experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of security tools, Python, and scripting is preferred.
