About the position

As a Cyber Security Engineer at ManTech International Corporation, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities of an Identity and Access Management (IdAM) engineering and operations team. This position is integral to ensuring the security and functionality of our systems, particularly those related to identity management. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and troubleshooting of existing IdAM Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and customized Linux OS solutions. Your expertise will be vital in system scanning, troubleshooting, remediation, and recovery processes, ensuring that our systems remain secure and operational at all times. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other System Administrators to maintain system performance, manage trouble resolution, and oversee ticketing and patch management. You will also be responsible for maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation, continuous monitoring, and assisting with customer onboarding for Identity and Access Management Services (IAMS). The position requires participation in a 24/7 rotation for after-hours support, with core hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This means you will need to be available for break-fix activities outside of regular hours, ensuring that our systems are always supported and operational. Your responsibilities will include hands-on cyber engineering and operations for an existing IdAM enterprise system, monitoring and reporting on system performance, and utilizing ticket management systems like JIRA and ServiceNow. You will also integrate IT solutions based on user requirements, collaborate with engineering teams for system enhancements, and provide subject matter expertise to other cyber engineers. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining a common security baseline for all systems, supporting routine vulnerability scanning, and ensuring that all systems have up-to-date security patches. You will also assist developers with the integration and deployment of IdAM solutions, contributing to the overall security and efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assume hands-on Cyber engineering and operations responsibilities for an existing IdAM enterprise system
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and report system and service performance status
  • Utilize, monitor, and update ticket management (JIRA, ServiceNow) and collaboration/documentation (GitLab, Confluence) systems
  • Integrate and onboard IT solutions based on user and organizational requirements
  • Work with sustainment and engineering teams to ensure availability of the systems
  • Collaborate with engineering and A&A staff with feature enhancements, security patches, hardening, and associated documentation to maintain security RMF requirements
  • Deploy system enhancements into the Production environment
  • Support IdAM/IAMS enablement tickets and onboarding process
  • Provide support for Enterprise Directory Services, Identity Management Services, and Credentialing Services (PKI based Authentication and Authorization), and Enterprise Authorization services
  • Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects
  • Maintain up to date documentation of system components and configurations
  • Provide subject matter expertise to other Cyber engineers and associated stakeholders
  • Offer innovative solutions to system services, directories, databases, automation, configuration, continuous monitoring, and service integration
  • Collaborate with QA testing team to aid in the DevOps life cycle of system releases
  • Maintain common security baseline for all systems
  • Support routine vulnerability scanning (EVSS), auditing, onboarding, and all systems have up to date security patches
  • Assist with maintaining the health of IAMS and other systems
  • Participate in meetings and provide written and verbal status updates
  • Collaboration with internal/external stakeholders on production and operational issues and items
  • Assist developers with integration and deployment of Identity and Access Management (IdAM) solutions

Requirements

  • B.S. or relevant experience in the field
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined IT, O&M, sustainment, break-fix, and cloud computing experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Linux (RHEL) based operating systems
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting system break-fix activities
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in cloud and virtual environments
  • Minimum of 1-year hands-on experience with PKI, IdAM COTS and customized solutions
  • Prior Agile and DevOps experience
  • Security+ required

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle IdAM software including: Oracle Access Manager (OAM), F5 appliances, ABAC solutions, and Identity and Access and PKI management concepts in general
